that no, he really enjyeod the class. Some of them are hard to read. There was discussion of bias, recognizing bias, and whether bias was good or bad. This is the preface to the list of information sources and topics:The following are web sites and information that are probably contrary to what you usually are probably exposed to, and that’s on purpose. I want to expose you to views that are probably opposed to what you are used to seeing or hearing, just so you know there is an opposing view point. You must learn to think for yourself! That goes for all areas of your life – whether you are choosing a life partner, a faith, a president, a local politician, or a food item. Making choices “because that’s what our parents/friends” do is a weak argument. I AM NOT NECESSARILY ENDORSING THE VIEWS OR COMMENTS IN THE LINKS AND VIDEOS BELOW – THERE ARE HERE FOR COMPARISON AND DISCUSSION. There is no right or wrong answer to any question. I am NOT asking you to believe – only that you review and ask yourself the following questions:1) Where do I get my information 2015-07-01 (水) 01:36:00 Is it from entertainment shows (Jon Stewart, SNL, Bill Maher) or from news outlets? Which news outlets – a. the mainstream news, aka “MSM” (ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN),b. other news (FOX, NPR), orc. conservative outlets: English talk radio (AM 700, AM740, AM1070, AM 950) certain FOX shows such as Hannity,d. liberal blogs (Democratic Underground, Daily KOS),e. conservative blogs (Breitbart.com sites, Townhall.com, AmericanThinker.com),f. Spanish outlets (Univision, Spanish stations),g. news aggregators (DrudgeReport.com, HuffingtonPost.com)?h. Have I ever heard of websites like ProjectVeritas.com?2) If I have negative views on any particular information source, why? Have I listened to that source, or am I going on what I’ve been told?3) Have I heard of these opposing ideas before? Where?4) Do I agree with these ideas? Why or why not?5) Do these ideas make me uncomfortable? Why or why not?6) Would I vote the same as my parents? Would I hold their values? Do changing times or circumstances influence me more than my cultural heritage? Why or why not?7) When it comes to issues of climate change, class warfare, etc., how are my opinions formed? Where are my sources of information? How informed are these sources? If they are not from experts in their field, why do I (not) believe them? (For example, do I listen to entertainers for information on politicians – do I realize they are opinions only, or do I accept their statements as fact?)8) Are these sources biased? Are these biases okay? How do I know if they are biased?9) Where do I get my ideas? Are they from people with experience in that area? If not, why do I consider them knowledgeable enough to trust them?10) After reviewing the links and the information contained in them, are any of my opinions changed? Why or why not? Will I now think about the information I receive – its sources and motivations? Does “follow the money” mean more to me now, does it explain more of what I see on TV?11) How much do I really know about the following: Pigford (Breitbart is the only site I know that has coverage on this huge scandal), Fast Furious, Benghazi, Climate Change/Global Warming, Voter Intimidation, Class Warfare/Envy, Media Bias, ACORN (and its connections), Unions Communism12) After going through these questions, do I feel that I am more informed? Why or why not? How do I think these exercises will change my behavior in the future, if at all?It was a very full class. When we reconvene on November 28th, I get to talk about sexual predators. http://qdvuofj.com eoblzdgxw [link=http://frkbsqbsag.com]frkbsqbsag[/link]
